What do YOU see?

Last weekend I got together with my family for a cookout and general gabfest. Five of my sister's grandchildren were there, so it was pretty loud. Riley, the oldest at 11, was running around and my eyes settled on his shirt. This is what he had on.

I said, "Hey Riley! What's that on your shirt?"

"A gorilla."

"Say what?" I said.

"It's a gorilla wearing headphones and sunglasses."

Well, I saw the sunglasses. And yep, there's the headphones.

But I didn't see no stinking ape.

What I saw was a kitty-cat.

The light brown color is the ape's face; the dark brown is the hairy other part. The two triangles above the glasses are supposed to be his eyebrows.

Uh, I STILL can't see it.

I see a cat.

Riley couldn't BELIEVE that his old aunt couldn't see the gorilla.

So I asked everyone else in the room, "What do you see -a gorilla or a cat?"

My brother saw a cat.

My twin sister saw a cat.

My sister-in-law saw a cat.

My OTHER sister (Riley's grandmother) saw a cat. THEN she saw a gorilla.

Riley's mother AND step-father saw a gorilla.

Here's the photo again.

Nope. Still can't see it.

So here's what I'm thinking. I'm thinking that only young people see the gorilla. (And my sister, Riley's grandma, was just trying to be NICE, and she LIED and said she saw the gorilla.)

What do you see?

It's like this photo.  Do you see the Old Hag or the Young Woman? Or both?

Can you tell, is this picture showing a man playing a saxophone or a lady’s face?

When you look at this picture close range you see Albert Einstein.

Now stand up and take several steps back, roughly 15 feet away, it will become… Marilyn Monroe. (Albeit Marilyn Monroe with a mustache!)  (Or if you're near-sighted, just remove your glasses.)

Here's a fun one. If you check carefully you will see that all the things are being sucked inwards.

Do you see two faces in here?

Find the man in the coffee beans.

Once you find the man, it is so obvious. But I had a HECK of a time finding him!

If you can't find him, don't feel bad. You know, I admit, I'm not the brightest bulb on the Christmas tree. When the movie "Batman" first came out and this symbol started appearing EVERYWHERE,

I thought, "What the heck is this big mouth with yellow teeth mean?"

Do you see it?

I had great fun with these, Pat, but the man in the beans defeated me. I did the usual 'staring' that goes with magic pictures but I couldn't get it. I was with you on all the others though.

First saw the gorilla before I began to read, then the cat was obvious after you mentioned it. In all but Einstein I saw each picture at the same time...I was too lazy to back up and watch for Marilyn. It was obvious to me that the items were goin' for the hole but the coffee bean man has eluded me. I have never noticed the bat man big mouth.

Just proves that what is around us and how it affects us is all in the perpective, I guess.

I see both in all cases, but I could not see a man in those coffee beans, no matter how hard I tried!

LOL... I see two things in each one...and found the man in the coffee beans. I LOVE this kind of stuff...especially those paintings which look abstract and you have to go into a trance and then the statue of Liberty appears....

Ironically, I did not see the cat on the first picture until you mentioned it, I saw the Gorilla...

Fun post as always!

I first saw the gorilla--after you said the thing about the cat, I can see it too, but what do you do with the white gorilla mouth in the middle of the cat's torso?

I totally never saw the teeth in the batman symbol, but now I do! Cool!

The picture sucking things in is really neat--it seems to move.

I saw the faces and the candlestick, both. I saw both images in all of the pix except the coffee beans. I just can't get that one!!!! It just looks like breakfast to me! LOL

Great fun, thanks!

When I saw your reference to this in your newest post I jumped down without reading it.

I saw the gorilla right away but I still don't see the cat. The guy in the coffee beans took awhile but I see him.

Optical illusions are so much fun, this is a good batch Pat.
