Signs - Elvis has Left the Building

sign outside of Graceland in Memphis, TN
The gate outside of Graceland
There is a brick wall, as you can see in the above photo, by the gate, and along the front of the property. It is filled with graffiti from undying fans of Elvis.

I zoomed in on one of the writings.

Elvis may have left the building, but not the hearts of millions of fans.

Ah Graceland! Did you go inside? I think the entrance fee is exorbitant, but you have to do it once. ;)

Would have to agree with David (above). I do think it's sad that the brick wall has been defaced with graffiti by the fans. I do like the gate, however.

Thanks for your visit and comment on my sign entry. Wishing you two safe travels as you head back to AZ.

Brian beat me to it.... did you sign the wall? I liked Elvis but I'm afraid I can't go on for years thinking he's still alive.

Mine and my sisters names are on that wall somewhere close to the gate. LOL Have a nice day!

We didn't make it to Graceland on our trip; it's definitely on our itinerary for the next one!

I am an Elvis fan, and have yet to visit Graceland. These are nice photos.

My friends at work surprised me on my birthday, and the mailroom manager dressed up in Elvis costume (the works) and he sang with his staff Return to Sender.

Pat, I would love to visit Graceland. Elvis was another person that was taken from us before his time.

Never been there and thanks for the photos Pat.

We missed this! Maybe next time. He may have left the building, but seems like he's never left the hearts of his fans.

I can still remember being at school when one of my fellow teachers got the news of his death. I thought we were going to lose her, too. It has always amazed me his continuing following. Unbelievable. Love the graffiti wall. genie

i'd like to tour graceland just because... i liked his gospel music better than the rock 'n roll.

Love love Elvis!

My mom hated Elvis, so we were banned from listening to his music (at least in her presence!). I'll probably never make it to Graceland, and appreciate this post!

I suppose one person defacing the wall is scandalous, but once there are hundreds added, it becomes a piece of art.

So did you actually get to go to Graceland? When? Twenty years ago, in the town where I lived, one of my good friends used to always tell me when it was Elvis' birthday. Funny how he is one that people still miss so much. He found out success is not all it's cracked up to be.
