To see or not to see....

This is the question.

I bought four of these glass coffee mugs not too long ago. I just love them! They have faceted sides, a glass handle, and are pretty to look at.

My husband refuses to drink out of them.

Do you want to know why?

He hates to "see" his coffee.

I know, crazy, right?

Or, maybe not.

Would it bother you to see your coffee (or tea in my case)?

My husband IS quirky about his coffee, though. All that paraphernalia you see in the background is what he uses to make EACH cup of coffee.

Every morning.

So speak out people.

Am I married to an oddball or is this common to not want to "see" your coffee?

I never thought about it until I read this, I looked at my mugs, all are colored my fav is a jadite mug from my collection....I must say drinking from a clear cup wouldnt kill me, but I think I am on the hubbys side with this one and would prefer a colored mug :)

Men are weird. But you already knew that.

I am utterly disgusted by coffee residue. The little bit of sugar/creamer/coffee left in the bottom of Eric's mug next to the sink. I turn the water on, run it until it's hot, and put the mug under it without looking. The spoon he used to stir it grosses me out, too.

Did I mention that I do not drink coffee? Or any hot beverage. Don't like it.

I say let the man use whatever mug makes him happy and use the clear one to display flowers or pencils or something.

LOL! My mugs aren't clear but I wouldn't mind drinking out of one. Your mugs are very pretty.

I actually prefer something insulated because I drink my coffee so slowly that it's cold before I'm finished. I will drink "cold" coffee - but only if I start out planning for cold coffee. Not hot coffee that's gone cold. Gross.

I like your mugs. I have some mugs I like better than others. I like the really heavy ones that keep my coffee hot. I prefer mugs over insulated cups or styrofoam. Tastes better to me. He who loves his ginormous Bubba mug doesn't drink coffee, so he doesn't care. He has a steady diet of diet coke. No water, no coffee, no tea. That is annoying to me!

I've got some glass mugs on the top shelf of the kitchen cabinet... never used, but I'm not sure why. I never consciously thought that I didn't like them. I do like pretty mugs though.

I like glass mugs, but the only reason I don't use the ones I have is because when you heat something up in it in the microwave, it becomes sonic hot. You can't hold the mug by the handle or anything because its too hot. But as for "seeing" your coffee, I have to say it is odd!

That is funny but everybody has some quirk about them. His could be worse. We are glad he let you share his with us cuz it's our entertainment for the day!!!

That's a nice looking mug. I bought some glass ones last year and I love them but hubby keeps dragging out his old ceramic mug. He says the glass doesn't keep the coffee hot enough. Men!

I have a very similar set of clear glass mugs. I love the size, shape and feel of them. My hubby will not use them. He feels they are to large for coffee and allows the heat to escape before he can empty the cup. He believes an old fashion heavy bottomed ironstone mug is best for heat and heft.

I'm glad toilets aren't clear.

I prefer seeing what I drink, many things can hide in a cup!

I like black coffee mugs so that you can't tell how stained they are ;>)

Thanks for stopping by my blog and for your kind words.
As for your aches and pains, it may be that during travels you were too busy to notice and now that you are in a more settled place, you notice them more. Who knows. We both have aches and pains at my house. Home or traveling! Take care of you, kiddo.
As for the cups, beautiful. He may be like my hubs and not like change, esp. coffee cups.
Who knows. We all have our quirks.
Off here to take care of me.
Blessings.
