Back before my Army days but after I had dropped out of college and was working in the watch factory a friend and I had a modified stock car that we raced.
One day I was pulling the transmission out when my buddie's wife came out of the house with her suitcase and said she was leaving.
She told him that he loved that d*mn car more than he loved her. She never did come back and they got a divorce shortly afterwards. He remarried within a year. (Before they married we would double date, I with his to-be wife's sister. She was engaged whlile we dated but we all were young. In fact we had a date the night before she got married.)
