Sunday Bridges - Custer State Park

This is the first time I'm joining in on this meme for "Sunday Bridges" sponsored by Louis La Vache at San Franciso Bay Daily Photo.

We came across this bridge while touring Custer State Park in South Dakota. This is called a pigtail bridge due to the way it is constructed.

Click on the photo to enlarge it so that you may be able to better read the sign about the bridge.

The bridge is beautiful and so compliments the environment. I have never seen or heard of a pig tail bridge until today.

What a cool bridge design. I really like that by using this construction they made less of an impact on the natural setting.

Thats awesome.

Now that is quite the bridge and an amazing feat! Glad you were able to get photos of it.

Very interesting Pat. You can see why they named them pigtail bridges. So much to discover out there!

Do cars drive on this? I love the construction. But I'd worry about putting so much weight on a wooden bridge!

Well, for your first Sunday Bridge, you certainly found a unique one!

hee hee... Perhaps «Louis» should re-name the meme to "animal bridges" - here you've got pigtail bridge and Egads-EG posted camelback bridge.

In any case, it's a welcome contribution to Sunday Bridges!
