Happy New Year

I didn't plan on taking such a long break from my blog between the holidays, but that's just what happened. It seemed like we had plans every single day for the last 10 days or so. I've totally ignored the whole blogosphere, so please forgive me for not visiting you, nor posting here.

I'm in the midst of taking down my Christmas decorations.

I know. It's too EARLY.

But my real tree was giving off some funky smell. Well, not so much FUNKY, per say, but just a real REAL strong pine tree smell. It was making me nauseous and giving me migraines. Have you ever heard of such a thing? I just had it. So last night I just began ripping off the ornaments and lights and within the hour the tree was stripped. We tossed it outside on our patio and that is where it is sitting at this moment. We'll have to haul it into our garage (so we won't piss anybody off on the condo board) and wait till garbage day.

I promised myself that I would give myself the day off and lie around on the couch all day, watching TV, and not even showering if I so pleased. But then reality set in and I scrubbed two bathrooms, washed six loads of clothes, made some ham with lentils soup, and made a big dent in the taking down of Christmas decorations. Now I'm tired and no wonder. It's after 9:00 pm and I'm just sitting down!

So this post that was not supposed to be a post, but in fact turned INTO a post, is written just to wish all of you the Happiest of New Years.

Are you going out to celebrate?

I prefer to snuggle on the couch and watch a good movie.

Happy New Year and see you on the other side!

Oooh Pat, you deserve a rest after all that work. After all the Christmas festivities we have a lazy New Year's Eve. I usually go to bed early. We have brunch out on New Year's Day which is always very nice. Happy New Year to you and Jim.

I told all 'my' kids last week,"See you next year." Took them a minute to catch on, then I heard them repeating it to each other and parents as they left.
Heehee.

We don't do anything exciting to celebrate, either. We don't drink, we don't party, I'm pretty sure we don't have any movies to watch we haven't already seen. I am guessing I'll go to bed early and hopefully sleep through the fireworks and gunfire as my less-than-considerate neighbors celebrate.

I did not decorate this year. So no undecorating was necessary. I really liked that.

Happy New Year to you!

Our second child ended up being severely allergic to the first "real" tree we had in our house in years. She was a very young preschooler. It was a miserable holiday for all so I understand you tossing that conifer out the door. It's funny that when we think about relaxing, it gives us energy to do projects!
Happy New Year to you, too and may it be a wonderful one with great health!

Wow! YOu stayed busy on the last day of the year. Hope you slept in this morning and spend a more relaxing time. Today is my day to do laundry. Yesterday I took down all the Christmas decorations in my Sunday School room and redecorated for January. I am not a great one with bulletin boards so it's always a bit of creative effort to get that done. Happy New Year.

I did the same thing Pat (a Break between holidays that wasn't really exactly planned.) We must have needed it. I did NOT do the same thing and clean house today though...tomorrow is another day.

Wow!! A day full of work. But, I bet you felt like you accomplished a ton and deserved to relax.

Happy New Year to you and yours.

We went out to our local resturant and sat with our bartender friends until about 9 pm (they were only open their regular hours until 11 pm). I was alseep on the couch at 9:30 pm. HA! Too old for the fun stuff anymore. The Hubs did wake me up at 11:50 pm to say "Happy New Year" and I was back asleep in about 2 minutes.
