Last weekend we visited my daughter and her family. She wanted us to help them get some painting done. Translate: Jim painted and I got to play with my granddaughter Lily. Lily's latest toy-of-the-month are "little people" and all the accessories.
No, my granddaughter is not into midgets.
But the Fisher-Price Little People.
Aah. (Shaking your heads like you know exactly what I am talking about!)
When it was Lily's nap time, it gave Grandma some time to play on her own.
And arrange things in rows.
Like three blue elephants (not to be confused with Three Blind Mice).
and three yellow lions.
Three horses
three cows,
and three chicks.
I don't know why Lily has three of everything, unless she knows something Noah didn't.
Here is a parade of little people.
Let's take a closer look at these little people, shall we?
First off, there's ALWAYS one in every crowd that has to go against authority. (Like the kid who sticks up his middle finger in a class photo.) I told all these little people to face forward. Can you see the idiot who is facing backwards? Yeah. Like I said. One in every crowd.
I was happy to see that Lily is an equal opportunity 2 1/2 year old. You see that her little people are well-diversified. All the white arrows point to her well-mixed crowd: young, old, black, Asian, and even a redneck or two. And the yellow arrows? Those two are bullies! Just look at those expressions! My son-in-law was highly insulted. He said, "Why do they always have to make the red-headed kid a bully?" (He has dark red hair.)
So, what say you? You want to jump on this crazy train?
Stay tuned. Tomorrow I have a story about the Fisher Price farmer in the dell. Takes on a whole new meaning when we say, "The Farmer takes a Wife."
Well that looks like a lot more fun than painting to me. That's quite a collection of little people and creatures, bet you and Lily had barrels of fun.
ReplyDeleteI really like the three cows and a paw(?).
The Noah's Ark part cracked me up. Great post!

Accidentally made the link to my blog home page, instead of the post. Anyway I can edit that?
ReplyDeleteNice one, Pat. Grandma's play time paid off. Displaying lots of toys in a row was probably the reason you agreed to Jim doing the painting!
ReplyDeleteThe Redneck was probably the one that got them to cooperate with you...you do know toys come to life when children are sleeping?
ReplyDeleteI can hear them, Go ahead, Bubba, just let her line us up then she'll leave us alone. We can tie her down after she goes to sleep.
haha nice...spent many an hour playing little people...myself and with my boys...diversity is a great thing as well...smiles.
ReplyDeleteGreat post and I did know what little people were lol one of my youngest neices plays with them lol ! Gail your a hoot ! Good one Pat Jim does work whilst you get to play with Lily ! Have a wonderful day !
ReplyDeleteHa, that's cute! Even a rodeo clown! I noticed that my pic for the day is actually in rows so I'll play :)
ReplyDeleteLOL This was fun! :)
ReplyDeleteOn my computer, the yellow arrows don't look too much like bullies OR redheads. ;-D Could just be me...LOL
Those are old school little people and they take me back
ReplyDeleteLooks like grandma had lots of fun!
ReplyDeletethat was so cute! love little people and weebles.
ReplyDeleteThat's cute! I used to play with little rubber animals from Germany when I was a kid. They provided hours of entertainment for me and my friend. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the day.
ReplyDeleteSeeing the Fisher-Price people brings back a lot of memories - mostly of me stepping on them in the middle of the night. But this was 30 years ago, when there was only one cow, one horse, two chickens, and our choices for diversity was Mom, Dad, boy, girl, and a farmer. But fun, still. :) Thanks, I enjoyed it!
ReplyDeleteThose are some pretty mean looking little people! My son had them when he was little and there were no meanies back then. Why do they need mean little people? How strange.
ReplyDeleteMy girls only had a few Fisher Price Little People - - years ago. I am glad to know there are so many more of them - - - and animals, too! What fun!!!
ReplyDeleteThat was so cute haha :)
