A Princess Party for the Royal Wedding

Did any of you watch the Royal Wedding?

My daughter, Jessica, and I had a Princess Party to watch the big event! I stayed overnight at her house Thursday.

At 3:00 am Friday morning we got up and prepared to watch the royal event.

The TV was set to the proper channel (although the wedding was being broadcast on SEVERAL channels!) (Note the time on the bottom left of the screen!)

Jessica set her computer up to show two live web sites of the wedding.

The dogs were wondering why their mommy got them up at three-in-the-frigging morning!

I made tea.

We had some sweets.

And of course, we had tiaras!

Soon Venus settled down next to Grandma. She wasn't interested in all the hoopla.

I mean, seriously, how could she not get excited over this?

Or this?

Jessica and I were riveted to the screen. We hated to take a potty break, but with all that tea drinking, we had no choice!

Kate looked so gorgeous in her wedding gown. It was simple, but beautiful.

I sure hope she can withstand the pressure of Royal life and that their marriage will last. They looked so much in love!

Pretty soon the littlest princess woke up.

"Grandma princess!" she said.

"Do you want to wear your crown?" I asked Lily.

"Yes!"

So I handed her the crown and this is how she wore it.

Mommy adjusts her crown.

Thanks Mom!

Lily really liked my crown. I gave it to her and this is how she wore that one. My true little princess.

  4. I watched the wedding twice and then some. The excitement over here was wonderful, it's been a long time since there was something to celebrate. The monarchy will take a new turn now. Your little princess looked lovely.

  5. Lily is a beautiful princess! What a fun family time for the girls. I know you are thrilled to be with them again.
I just watched the highlights on the news and the internet. My daughter and I agree that her gown was beautiful as was she.

  6. how cute! i had to wrk but i did record it. i'm actually watching TLC's replay of the event this morning. she did look beautiful. the gown was very elegant. i heard some people complaining that she went to 'safe' with it and it looked too much like princess grace's gown. big deal. it worked then and worked now. her gown was so much prettier than diana's gown. (it was way over to top for my tastes.)

  7. What a fun night you had. I was sleeping. But I did watch the videos on Yahoo last night. She definitely was gorgeous, but she's got nothing on your little brown-eyed princess!!

  9. Pat, You had a blast! You make me wish I could have gotten into the wedding more. So many people had great fun with it. Your daughter and grands will remember you for your time together. Making memories. That's what its all about. Take care and have a great weekend.

  10. Wasn't it nice? I woke up at 5:45 am here on the east coast and Kate was just about to get into her car to go to the wedding. Not sure I could have handled 3 am! That Chelsy Davy is quite a nasty girl. Have you looked up pictures of her? Apparently she likes to smoke, drink, party, and show her goods.

Your little princess is too cute!

  11. A princess party sounds like fun, I might have gotten out of bed for a party like that. Lily looks so cute in the crowns, that last photo is priceless.

Pat, you asked about the flower on my post today. With the wedding and all I thought I would post an English Daisy!

  12. Oh Grandma Princess! I think that's what I'll have my future grandchildren call me! ;-)

I remember getting up in the middle of the night to nurse my baby daughter 30 years and a few months ago and watching another wedding in London on the TV.
