Sunday Bridges - Carlsbad Pecos River

The town of Carlsbad, New Mexico is famous for its Caverns, but the center of town has a beautiful park that runs along the Pecos River.

This is a pedestrian bridge that straddles the river; here is a view of it from afar.

A close up view.

Well, you've taken «Louis» back to his childhood! He remembers visiting the Carlsbad Caverns, taken there by an aunt and uncle who lived in Hobbs, NM. («Louis» grew up in Lubbock, TX.) He remembers swimming in this river after the visit to the Caverns.

«Louis» thanks you for your contribution to Sunday Bridges.

Lovely bridge. It looks quite a distance from one side to the other, guess my legs would get tired by half way.

That view is sooooo pretty. It would be fun to be on the bridge in the middle of the lake.

That is one long, low bridge! Very pretty looking, too. But, I see no pedestrians... :(

Very beautiful!

When I visited New Mexico's Chaco Canyon I photographed a snake in a kiva.

Oh wow, you are close to my childhood neck of the woods!! Carlsbad was about an hour away! I think they have some awesome Christmas lights too along the Pecos. So if you are ever there around holiday times, check it out!

I hope it doesn't flood, the bridge seems very low.

What is it about pedestrian bridges? I feel like a kid who just has to cross it!

I love your last photo with all the shadows and the curve at the end of the bridge.

I like how the colour of the bridge looks in contrast to the water.
