Signs - Now THAT'S a FISH!

This attention-grabbing building is a shop that sells tackle and bait. Located in Grand Marais (pronounced Muh-ray), Minnesota. This beautiful little town is located on the farthest northern edge of Minnesota....next stop Canada. It sits on the shores of Lake Superior. Grand Marais is an artsy-fartsy town....lots of artists come here to paint. I loved all the little shops and of course, sitting by the water and watching the sailboats. This photo was taken a few years ago during the summer.

I'm hooking up with Signs, Signs sponsored by Lesley here. Come join us.

  7. love the fish!

and curious about the 'beaver licks'?
we have beaver tails, which are a fried donut with cinnamon and sugar.

  8. I think a beaver lick is probably kind of like a salt lick for cattle. It's a block of compacted salt and minerals not native to the soil to make sure they are not depleted in any they need. Kind of like a multi-mineral pill! They like the taste so they will lick at it and get what they need.

I don't know why you would put one out for beavers unless you are farming beavers (for pelts maybe?) or you are an environmentalist, but then again maybe I'm wrong about the whole thing. Maybe it's just a lollipop.

  9. We used to head on down to Grand Marais quite often when we lived in Thunder Bay. It's a beautiful spot & some great shopping there as well.
