Last week we received many, many inches of rain here in Arizona. It is very rare to see puddles and drainage areas filled with water - at least not in monsoon season. I was at a shopping center and saw these two perfect reflections from a standing pool of water and couldn't resist snapping some photos. Click to enlarge the photos.

wow, that is just amazing, the rain left a calm water in the ground great for reflection shot.
ReplyDeleteHow beautiful, a sense of peacful jumps from the image...
ReplyDeleteGreat catch! That first one in particular looks like a mirage. And the reflections are incredibly clear. Beautiful shots. Kathy
ReplyDeleteI love the first one Pat - your own little oasis! It's so crisp and clear - nicely captured!
ReplyDeleteMine’s here: Carletta’s Captures.
Looks so still! the wind is usually blowing here. It has snowed all day and is lovely for now, but when it melts will just add to the already soggy ground. I even have water running through the pipes inside now!!
ReplyDeleteThe top one really does look like a pool in an oasis.
ReplyDeleteAmzing shots, some of the most original seen around today!
ReplyDeleteI like the expansiveness of both shots. The reflections are terrific in them.

Weekend Reflection ~ Ghostly Images
It does seem odd to see giant puddles surrounded by such dryness.
ReplyDeleteLovely one!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend.
Those are beautiful reflections. The puddles are so clear and you captured them wonderfully.
ReplyDeleteReflecting on your reflections...
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful and rare sight, great captures!
ReplyDeleteAwsome reflections and great photos! I just love the colors!
ReplyDeleteYou could not describe better Arizona under water!
ReplyDeletePat , I so love your reflection shots!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

That really is an unusual sight - puddles and standing water. The reflections in your photos turned out nice.
ReplyDeletePerfect title and a neat find. It's a very good set of reflections
ReplyDeletewhat a great eye you have! i was just looking at your photos thinking that i probably would have driven right by those puddles and not paid them any attention at all. fortunately, there are photographers like you out there to capture the beauty in the simplest of things.
ReplyDeleteNeat reflections but I thoroughly enjoyed your sleep story. My father would often make strange moaning and yelling noises in his sleep and that was really spooky when you were a kid who knew the monsters were in the closet and under the bed. Amazing how much protection we got by pulling the covers over our head.
ReplyDeleteWonderful reflection shots :)
ReplyDeleteKaren, really those pictures are amazing and I am so glad you posted about the rain. I kind of always wanted to be in AZ during monsoon season to see what it was like, but it usually doesn't happen during snowbird season. Tx for sharing
ReplyDeletePat, I don't have any idea why I called you Karen. At least I didn't call you late for dinner. Sorry (listening to superbowl with one ear, and I can't walk and chew gum at the same time.)
ReplyDeleteOh wow, you did get rain. Love the reflections.
